English and philosophy majors don’t usually found tech startups.

However, Venmo co-founder and 2005 University of Pennsylvania graduate Andrew Kortina defied this stereotype by creating Venmo, an app for exchanging money. Venmo has caught on in hundreds of college campuses across the country and is paving the way for the next generation of mobile payments.

Andrew will be joining EEG to discuss how being paired randomly with a roommate during his freshman year spurred his interest in entrepreneurship which eventually lead to the inculcation and execution of Venmo.
